I was given a book that had the above Bible verse underlined.
"The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come."
Basically when I read this, I thought of the Left Behind series. Where God called the righteous home and they are taken safely to heaven to escape the wickedness of this world. The rest of us are hoping we get to heaven before we have to fight lo live. Read the Bible.
"He shall enter into peace; they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
Grieving people always want to know why our children are taken so soon. Sometimes, it is hard to not constantly question God on this. The bible clearly states the righteous are spared from the evil to come. Sometimes I sit and wonder what did God know that I don't about Lezlie's future that he spared her and Mal from whatever evil they were going to face.
Of course, those are questions that will have your head hurting and your tears flowing because you can imagine anything and everything wicked that could happen and trust me, that isn't helpful at all.
Basically, I read this and think he was blessing them by sparing them from evil. But, it still doesn't make the sting of their death any less. Children are holy. Children are righteous. Having learned that Lezlie was saved again before this accident truly helped me so much because I know where she is and, Mal too. Knowing they are waiting for us doesn't stop the tears but it certainly makes them come for other reasons as well. They are at peace. Something some of us long to have. I have peace knowing she is at peace and she well taken care of and, he spared her from evil. This world is awful and I never want to know or imagine what he protected her from.
What I do know is this and, I will say it many times; God has one heck of an army up there and its going to be pretty amazing to see Lezlie in the middle of it.
Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the lord is the death of his faithful servants."
